Fixing radio airplay data: WARM raises €1.25M and adds Sony as a new investor

WARM (World Airplay Radio Monitor) raises €1.25M to aid European and North American expansion.

We are very pleased to announce that we have raised €1,250,000 in a seed round funding from existing investors and from Sony after participating in the acceleration program hosted by Sony Startup Acceleration Program Europe.

WARM will use the funding to continue its team, brand and community expansion and to further invest in new products and features.

We are delighted to close this investment round, as we aimed for €1M. We’re also very excited to welcome Sony Startup Acceleration Program as a new seed investor and hope this will bring new market opportunities” says Jesper Skibsby, CEO and founder of WARM

We’re also very excited to welcome Sony Startup Acceleration Program as a new seed investor and hope this will bring new market opportunities” says Jesper Skibsby, CEO and founder of WARM.

WARM uses audio fingerprinting and music recognition technology, to detect and identify when songs are played on radio, anywhere in the world. This gives artists, music entrepreneurs, bands, booking agents, radio promoters, record labels and managers, instant and real-time access to their own radio airplay data across 28.000 radio stations, in more than 100 countries.

Our hope is to bridge the gap between understanding and collecting music data in Europe and in North America. Unfortunately, the music industry, including the local IFPI offices and Performance Rights Organisations, limits the access to foreign radio airplay data, which can be crucial information for independent music entrepreneurs. WARM has already made this transparent, accessible and affordable to artists, and now the plan is to expand.

“The problem with airplay transparency is a global one. We hope we can leverage our partnership with the investors to break barriers much faster and get our solution out to the world,” says Jesper Skibsby.
