MBW article:

Copenhagen-based music tech startup WARM (World Airplay Radio Monitor) has raised €1.25 million in a seed round.

The funding comes from existing investors and from Sony after participating in the acceleration program hosted by Sony Startup Acceleration Program Europe.

WARM uses audio fingerprinting and music recognition technology to detect and identify when songs are played on radio anywhere in the world.

The company says that it’ll use the funding to build out its team, brand and expand its community, in addition to investing in new products.

The company says that its tech gives artists, ‘music entrepreneurs’, bands, booking agents, radio promoters, record labels and managers, instant and real-time access to their own radio airplay data across 28,000 radio stations in more than 100 countries.

“We hope we can leverage our partnership with the investors to break barriers much faster and get our solution out to the world.”

Jesper Skibsby (pictured), CEO and founder of WARM, said: “We are delighted to close this investment round, as we aimed for €1m.

“We’re also very excited to welcome Sony Startup Acceleration Program as a new seed investor and hope this will bring new market opportunities.

“The problem with airplay transparency is a global one.

“We hope we can leverage our partnership with the investors to break barriers much faster and get our solution out to the world.”
