AirPlay Direct or WARM: sending music to radio, or seeing it played?
AirPlay Direct is a service for sending music to radio. Artists and labels upload releases, and radio programmers and DJs download them for free. It reports who downloaded your music. WARM finds your songs in the broadcast and lists each play. The two do different jobs; here is where they meet.

Where AirPlay Direct is stronger
- It gets your release to radio programmers and DJs. WARM does not send music to stations.
- Download reports name the programmer or DJ, so you can follow up with them directly.
- Artist profiles and digital press kits made for radio.
Where WARM is stronger
- Shows whether a song was played on air, not only downloaded.
- Every play with its station, country, city, start time and duration.
- Plays found in the broadcast audio of 21,000+ stations, whether or not a station downloaded the song.
The short answer
If you need to get a release in front of radio programmers, AirPlay Direct is built for that and WARM is not. If you need to know which stations then played it, WARM is. Artists who promote to radio often use a delivery service and an airplay tracker together.
